How I Became a Gazillionaire, Almost Overnight

It actually began when I was in my early twenties, so it was not just overnight. I had just walked out with a marketing degree from college and joined a local New Jersey advertising agency as its creative director. I learned secrets to being a good designer, fidelity 401k, and production person and did it with me when I moved west a few years later. Where I opened my own advertising agency and sold it five years ahead. I rented it with a Bell Systems division as a marketing consultant and started stashing money in a 401K and pension funds. During the same period, I bought and sold five homes, each one a bit more profitable than the last. The whole time I concentrated live the good life, to make some extra money in savings and pay cash for something I could afford. Let me repeat it: I just bought what I could afford. There was no luxury goods, unless the money were available, including cars. So I was one of the small percentage who have never had a car payment. Instead I learned to do without, and stayed away from temptation. I hated the interest payments and only had a mortgage as my sole debt. Sure, I had always credit cards, but they had paid off each month. It was during a period of 25 years. During that time I took a daughter, took a second home in the mountains and an executive, five bedroom, four bathroom home in a gated community. Did I mention I also lived yuppie dream and had his and her Mercedes? But that's all ancient history. After I retired, I bought a small home for cash and now drives a Honda Civic. I still travel the world and likes to eat out sometimes. So what do I do to show for nearly 35 years of hard work and planning?, fidelity 401k, Today, I'm worth …. Hmm, but it would be appealing, is not it? Suffice it to say that I am very comfortable and it's all because of planning in my late twenties and thirties. I have invested and been pretty conservative in my approach. But despite the shameless plug for my business, please understand that concept. I reached the seven figure mark by doing without the decadent items and still manage to pamper myself and family. Becoming rich is not about working harder, just smarter. Start your journey at an early age and it becomes much easier as the years go by.
